Bozarth Family Portrait | Volkswagen Bus | Hagerstown, Maryland

So, I've had this idea rattling around in my head for a while for a conceptual family portrait where the Mom & Dad are being driven out of control with the child behind the wheel. When I approached the Bozarth's (Mike, Katie, and Emily) about my idea, they were quickly on-board. Mike is an avid Volkswagen enthusiast and has his very own 78 VW bus that is currently being restored. He reached out to fellow VW fanatic Brian Caron who owns the very sweet yellow 67' bus in this photo. Brian, who will gladly provide his VW Bus for "Limo" service ( www.simple-transport.com ), was very accommodating and I'd like to thank him for helping turn this idea into reality.

Here is a behind the scene look at the shoot along with step-by step photos of the post production process.

For the background, I started off with this image of the very curvy and scenic Rt. 77 in Western Maryland.

Here, some motion blur and gradient were added.

Next step, masked out the bus and dropped it into the background.

Boom...Turned on the headlights and added some dust.

Final product after some color and contrast adjustments along with darkening the edges.
