The BCA-CV helps individuals throughout the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, Western Maryland, and Franklin and Fulton Counties in Pennsylvania who are battling breast cancer. For free, they provide support groups, meals, wigs, and they will even clean the house of a patient receiving chemotherapy. The BCA-CV's motto is "so no one has to face breast cancer alone."
Cathy reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in donating a photographic print for the BCA-CV's upcoming fundraiser named "An Artisan Affair" at the Clarion Hotel in Shepherdstown, WV. Supporters will listen to nationally known guest speakers and be treated to an artisan meal featuring fare from a local farmer's market. Guests will then take part in a live and silent auction of creations from local artists and craftsmen.
The print I chose to present is a panoramic landscape of the sun setting over the Cumberland Valley. I think it's kind of fitting for an organization that has Cumberland Valley in their name. It was taken last summer from "High Rock", a rocky perch near Cascade, Maryland that never disappoints those who take the winding road up the mountain to visit.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank Cathy and all the ladies who operate and support this awesome organization. My positive thoughts are with all the women who are facing this disease, and I hope that that my humble contribution will help make someone's battle a little easier and that they don't have to face it alone.
